Melissa’s Fight Against Lymphoma & Heart Failure

Hi, my name is Cassie and I am raising funds for my mother Melissa Gray. Melissa is a mother to 4 girls and a grandmother to 10. In August 2022 she decided to go to the ER after not feeling well for over a month. After running tests they suspected she may have cancer. It was also determined that her pre existing heart condition had gotten worse. What was once one leaking valve was now four with one artery being 80% blocked. She was referred to an oncologist and heart failure doctor. After having many more tests done by both doctors it was determined she needed open heart surgery, but her biopsy came back positive and she was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. The doctors thought her heart was strong enough to withstand Chemo and the open heart surgery would have to wait until Chemo was done. My mom began her first chemo treatment on January 30th. She will undergo 18 weeks of an aggressive chemo treatment. She has been out of work since November 2022 and we are not certain when she will be able yo return, but it will definitely be months from now. Any donations would be used to help her pay day to day living expenses, medical expenses, gas to get to and from appointments, etc. My mom has always been such a caring, hard working person and I just want to give her peace of mind that she won’t have to stress about her lively hood while she’s trying to fight the hardest fight of her life.
