Melissa’s Medical Expense Help

-First off, I’d like to thank anyone who takes the time to read my story. I appreciate it greatly.
On May 13th, 2019 I went to First Choice ER early in the morning for what I thought was just a high fever that wouldn’t subside and some aches and pains. Shortly after arriving, it became apparent that this was far more serious than a fever, and in a short time, I was being transferred to HCA Houston Clearlake. When I arrived I was greeted by the best ER team that I could have asked for. They rapidly began taking care of me, and confirmed that I had become critically ill; sepsis can develop remarkably fast, and a I was also diagnosed with DIC which is a scary disorder that causes your blood to clot incorrectly and often causes internal bleeding. I was expeditiously transferred up to ICU, where I was given multiple strong antibiotics, a medication called levophed to maintain my blood pressure, and also had to have surgery on my left arm twice.
Once getting out of the ICU, things have been looking up, and I’ve been making slow progress everyday, but progress none the less. I am grateful to have my life, as the alternative is rarely something one would expect to happen at such a young age. After an unexpected three week hospital stay, things are moving in the right direction now, and I am eager to return to work in full health. *Fingers crossed* I’ll be able to return after one more month of treatment for my arm, but I well still need a heart procedure was once I am healthy enough.
Unfortunately, the excellent care that I received comes with a TON of expenses; expenses that I never even considered trying to prepare for. My workplace has been gracious enough to hold my position for me while I am healing. However, I have been out of work for 3 weeks, and even when I get discharged from the hospital I’ll still be out of work for at least another month due to the wound vac on my arm. I will have a pretty steep loss in work wages because I am still new to my company and don’t qualify for certain benefits yet. So, I am humbly asking for your help.
If you’ve made it this far, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story. The massive number of messages, texts, visitors, and just overall support that I have received these past 3 weeks has been incredibly overwhelming in the best way. If there is anyone who has the means to help get me back on my feet and would not mind helping me recover in all aspects of my life, I will forever be grateful. If you don’t have the means, then I am still grateful that you took the time to read my story and I appreciate you.
Thank you ❤️
