Help Mel beat cervical cancer
Donation protected
Earlier this year, one of the most incredibly courageous, spirited and kind hearted people I know had decided to pursue her dream of moving to the US, and settled in Seattle without knowing a single soul. Six months on, Mel established herself with a new job, friends and abode and we were glad to see her doing so amazingly well.
Since however, she has been dealt a difficult trial. In September this year, Mel was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cervical cancer, a very rare and aggressive form that strikes only about 250 women in the US per year, at the young age of 36.
Luckily it was caught early, but it will require surgery followed by 6-7 months of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Mel will be treated at MD Anderson in Houston for her surgery, which is world renowned for treatment of this type of cancer. To undertake this tough process, Mel will be raising money towards her treatment and to offset some of the medical expenses.
To everyone who knows Mel, she is a strong, tenacious and a very determined young lady. Help her beat this cancer by donating to this page, or by simply showing your support with well wishes and messages - and (borrowing Mel's words) 'Help her kick this cancer's ass'.
