Melody Green

Hello, as many of you know, my dear Mum, Melody Green passed away recently. She passed away at home, which is what she would have wanted, and her passing has left a space in my heart I cannot imagine ever being able to fill. I will miss her more than I can put into words but I know she would want life to go on.

She was loved by many and I know that her many friends would wish some sort of service for her in her memory. Unfortunatly there was no real plan put into place to deal with this and while the costs of cremation more than likely can be covered, it is unlikely that I will be able to raise funds for a service on top of that without help.

There is of course tiers of what would be available depending on what we can afford so depending on what we can raise there will be different options. To get a rough idea of how much we are looking at I will detail costs below for a Cremation/Service with the Coop. Anyone wanting to check these costs themselves can reference the Coop website

Cost of basic cremation (no service, no one attending) £1350

This is about what I can cover myself. With donations we can stretch to either an 'essential' service, this is where you do not have much control over times/dates etc or for a little extra, a 'tailored' service where you have more control.

Essential service £1995 +£917 cremation +£250 Celebrant + extra costs, for example a slideshow. Estimate we were given was around £3160

Tailored service was £2450 plus the costs of cremation etc. Estimate we were given was closer to £4067

I hate to have to discuss money at a time like this so I will open the GoFundMe and at the end of the week I will have a better idea what we can afford and if we are able to have a service will go ahead and arrange it.
