Melody Yeary and her family

Hi, my name is Julie Forbes, Melody Yeary is my oldest sister at almost 70 years old. Most of you know her but some of you don’t. On September 20th Melody was life flighted to Mercy hospital due to a fatal 3 car wreck which happen to be on my brother Marc’s birthday, whom we lost 3 years ago. This was such a surreal, tragic accident. She has been in ICU for 15 days and has had 6 surgeries and 2 ambulations on her right leg and the femur bone on her left leg bolted together. Along with her left arm broken and right arm wrist broken. Her neck has many torn tendons. They have taken her spleen, her bowel was damaged and her liver and her ribs were crushed. They have reconstructed her ribs, they have closed her chest cavity up after being open for 12 days and now she has recently contracted pneumonia in her left lung. She keeps a mid grade fever and her blood pressure is up and down at times. She has bleeding in her left lung. She has been on a respirator, feeding tube and drain tubes, a central line and oxygen the whole time. This is just the beginning of complications! When she comes out of this and aware of things she is going to be in such a state of mind that no one can imagine. Many more surgeries, therapy and God is going to be needed. This family won’t ask for anything but is going to need everything. Her family lives 2-1/2 hours away from the hospital. The gas and time out of work is enough to go under very quickly. She is going to need rehab. Everyone know insurance carry’s deductibles and in some cases won’t take the insurance. She is going to need things like wheel chairs, hoist lifts, lift bars at home and a ramp to able her to have some kind of self assistance which will be very little for her. She will need nurses and If you know Melody you know she was a giver, she thought of others before herself. She is a very kind person who spoke only kind words for anyone and loved even bigger than the stars above. I am, along with everyone else in our family is traveling back and fourth from our homes, from a far to help her and her family to get through this. It is so hard when we are not prepared for the unexpected. This family needs financial help and many prayers, this is going to be a long long road. We ask in the name of Jesus for these prayers and for any donation that can be given is very much helpful and grateful for. Set aside from her siblings, nieces, and nephews is her son Jay and his wife Laura. Please keep them in your prayers for this is so over whelming for them. Imagine the life of the unforeseen.
