Please take a moment to read about my journey.
I came out as transgender in 2021 after being in the closet for nearly 30 years. Finally able to live my truth. However, over the course of the last three years, I have been discriminated against in many workplaces, and it is now impossible for me to save the money for surgery.
At one point, I was earning enough that I could save, but I got fired six months after coming out and struggled to find steady work. Whenever I get ahead and feel that things are working out, another financial spiral appears in my life.
I’ve been struggling the last few years with my depression, gender dysphoria and anxieties. I hate my body. So much. In August of last year, I had enough fighting and attempted to unalive myself. If it wasn’t for a kind stranger, I would not be here today.
I spent the following months isolating myself and reflecting on my actions. I realize now that I NEED to get this surgery done as soon as possible for me to live a happier, more content life. My dysphoria is through the roof, and it pains me every day knowing that I am in the wrong body.
In 2022, I had a consultation with Dr. Christine McGinn who is based in Philadelphia and she is the dream surgeon for me. This cost me $350, which I appreciate the donations so far that helped to make that happen. I'm forever grateful.
My health insurance can cover the anesthetist and hospital bills, but the Gender Reassignment Surgery itself, I have to pay out of pocket. Dr. Christine McGinn has stated that if I were to have the money, I could have surgery within six months. It’s now 2025 and I’m nowhere closer to raising this kind of money.
This surgery is life or death for me. I will never be 100% happy with myself until this surgery is complete.
If you feel you're able to help, it will mean the world to me.
