Mely's Top Surgery

Hi community!

I have exciting news and need your help to bring this next healing step into fruition. I am raising funds to cover some of the cost for my top surgery which is scheduled for September 2023 and will be taking place in San Francisco.

I am grateful for the opportunity to make it to this point of my transition and to have access to this procedure, given the current and ongoing trying times for trans and nonbinary folks. The little kid in me is ready to feel free and alive again in their body and this will bring just that, FREEDOM.

After significant reflection, I am able to see how the discomfort around my chest gets in the way of me being able to show up and be present in the world and in relationships (family, friends, romantic). This naturally has made it hard to show up consistently for the things that matter to me and the people I care about. I started to imagine what it would be like if I did have top surgery and my visions made me feel alive! That was about 2.5 years ago and we are finally here.

Because we are not meant to do life alone, I am asking for community support to cover the financial cost of going through top surgery. I have been dreaming about making it to the other side of this procedure feeling happy, healthy, and embodied.

The funds raised will be used to pay for the procedure as well as travel cost to and from the bay area. Because surgery is taking place in SF, I will be recovering in the comfort of my brothers apartment for two weeks after the procedure.
