Memorial and Kids of Alex Plumberkhan Parkman

Donation protected
It has been around three weeks now since my biological father, Tom Remeika, passed away, that I announce with a heavy heart that my stepdad, Alex Parkman, lost his battle with alcohol and depression.  He took his own life Thursday night.  He was dad for about 8 years?  9 years?

We were a happy family for a number of years.  A family of "his, hers and then ours."  Dexter and Leila, now 11 and 13? were from his first marriage to Candace Butler.  I, of course, am the product of my mother, Nichole Hezebicks and Thomas Remeika.  Then in 2014, Mom and Alex had Sadie, now 5, and Alice came in 2016 (she is 4). Shortly after Alice came, Dad started to really  battle alcohol and depression and our family was torn apart. They tried a few more times to reunite and have the family all together, but the demon's of Dad's past always seem to creep back in.

No one should be defined by their worst moments.  What we want people to remember, is that he was great and so much more than his problems.   Here are pics from his social media pages to show why we loved him (and if you knew the guy, you loved him too).

He loved us kids so much.

He liked animals, especially squirrels and cats.

Huge Jet's fan...He was an active participant on the JetsInsider Forums online.

He was a drummer (after his wrist wouldn't allow guitar play.

Long time lover of and volunteer at the Great Blue Heron Music Festival as the plumber and Performer Liaison.

He loved heavy metal and that other people couldn't handle it.

He loved babies so much.

He used to walk down isles he didn't need to at Walmart just to see a baby close-up and try to make them laugh.

He loved his family so very much.

He really loved where ever he worked from STEL, Inc to Man Made Pools, he was a plumber, maintenance man and even did nonprofit real estate development.  He was good at whatever he did.

Sure, there were some rough patches, but man, did we have some good times.  Even mom can't describe him without laughing at old stories because he was hilarious!!!

He tried really hard to kill those demons.  If you knew him, it was probably during the day and you had no idea.  No idea he had depression and struggled to silence it through self-medication but thats not who he was.  He was actually really awesome and no one that knew him will ever forget him.

Money raised will go to the funeral home for his cremation expenses (around $2,000).  Then to his sister, Valerie, who had damage to her house/living room  ($2,000) and then if there is anything left, it would be split between his children, so it will not be closed out once it reaches the minimum goal of memorial expenses and property damage.
