Memorial Bench for Brian Johnson

*Raising money for a memorial in a park*
My name is Jessica Trushel and I have known Brian Johnson and Lindsay for 20+ years, since high school days at Anderson. I am lucky to be a part of a lasting group of friends since those days and a supporter of Strange Mechanics since they came together.
The recent passing of Bj has torn the hearts of many. Not only was he a son, brother, friend, and bad-ass bass player, he was an uncle to two amazing little humans that will miss the opportunities to brag about how cool their Uncle Brian is. He always talked about how fun it was to be the uncle and how he gets to buy the most loud and obnoxious toys that his sister would hate, in true Bj fashion. He has a giant soft spot for kids, even if he hid it with humor.
The loss of a life too soon is most painful for the ones left behind.
As a mother myself, my heart hurts for his family but especially Jackson and Austin as they will never know how truly talented and awesome their Uncle was.
I am starting this fundraiser in hopes to raise enough money to buy a bench memorial at Beechacres, where Lindsay and her kids frequently visit. It’s somewhere the kids could sit and talk to their Uncle or eat ice cream with him. It’s a safe place to visit, especially for kids, that’s not in a cemetery full of death, but in a park full of life. We all could use a little spot to sit with Brian again.
I had permission from his family to start this process and what a gift this could be for those littles. And yes, a park bench is pricey. Whatever amount leftover will be donated to his families choice foundation. Please help and donate however big or small, it all counts.
