Memorial for Hershey Paty Nagpal
Donation protected
As many of you know, our beloved pup Hershey was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer in May. He fought bravely, without complaint for over 4 months undergoing various chemotherapy treatments and numerous doctor visits where he went in happily, wagging. Fortunately, as a result of treatment, our sweet boy lived a happy, practically normal life for most of the summer, and reached his 3rd birthday just after Labor Day. Only recently, when our final chemo option stopped working, did his health rapidly deteriorate. As a result, we unfortunately had to let our sweet boy go this past week.
Nothing can remedy the hole in our hearts and lives that is left by his absence. We miss him dearly. We learned so much from him, and are committed to embodying his joyful, loving spirit for the rest of our lives.
In loving memory of our daily adventures in Fort Greene park with Hershey, we are dedicating a bench in his honor. As we know many of you loved Hershey as well, we invite you to join us in this effort by making a contribution, no matter how big or small, to help fund this memorial to our sweet boy. We also encourage you to visit the bench, which will be installed in early October, on the main path of the park, parallel to Dekalb Avenue, between Cumberland & S. Portland.
If you would like to honor Hershey in a different way, we would encourage you to make a donation to animal health research through either of the below organizations that provide grants for dog cancer research, and were recommended by his oncologist:
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Hershey and us during this trying time, and who loved him. He loved all of you so much.
