Memorial Bench For Jaliek Rainwalker

Greetings of Peace and Love to all reading this: 

On behalf of all admins and the 5200+ members from Justice For Jaliek Rainwalker, we humbly ask you to consider helping us reach our initial goal of $2000 for a memorial bench in Greenwich, New York to hold space for & honor 12 year old missing child Jaliek Rainwalker.

Since November 1st 2007, there has been immeasurable grief and overwhelming confusion among the many who love, care about & miss little Jaliek. We have formed a community support group to advocate for Jaliek, giving a safe space to those who won’t ever stop searching for him AND the truth about what has happened to him. He has been missing over 15 years and is considered a victim of probable child homicide; last seen at Red Robin in Latham NY that night around 8 pm under the care and supervision of his adoptive father Stephen Burrell Kerr who is currently still living free in West Rupert, VT today.

We urge folks to take time and google Jaliek’s case. Recently, the Albany Times Union has a multimedia project on the case: 4 articles in November 2022 on the 15th anniversary; in early 2023, writers Wendy Liberatore & Jessica Marshall also began a 7 part podcast.

Ms. Barbara Reeley (Jaliek’s adoptive grandmother) as well as so many of his caring biological family & friends have expressed wishes for a place to honor and visit as a place of peace. We want to hold space for Jaliek while we all fight for his justice and keep searching for him. 

Thank you for considering a contribution to help us fund this memorial bench. Any amount is so appreciated. Once we reach our goal to fund it, the Greenwich Village clerk will handle the ordering of the bench. We were given a 30 day quote of 1896.26 and chose to set our goal at 2k to be sure we have enough at time of purchase by Greenwich Village Clerk. Any overage will be donated to the Saint Rose College Cold Case Analysis Center, which already holds a fund established in Jaliek’s name.

Jaliek’s memorial bench will be located in Greenwich New York (12834) at the intersection of Salem and Church Streets at the beautiful triangular shaped park near a local church. On Route 29 overlooking the Battenkill River, this location has already been selected/approved by Greenwich NY Village Board and Mayor as of Feb 13, 2023.

The bench will also have a plaque honoring Jaliek on behalf of the Justice For Jaliek community. The plaque is confirmed to read as follows: “In Memory Of Jaliek Boyd Rainwalker Never Forgotten Always Loved”.
