Memorial Brick For Anthony Alonzo

I am starting this gofundme to do something nice in memory of my father. It has been very important to my mother that we do not accept donations for my father’s services. Their entire lives they have been told that they couldn’t do things and they consistently went out of their way to prove everyone wrong, this is no exception. They went out of their way to ensure that these services were taken care of on their own. She wont even accept donations from her own kids.

While looking at pictures I realized that he almost always had military ensignia gear on. This of course was from my job but to be honest he was one of the most patriotic people I have ever known. Rewind to several weeks ago, I ran into a nice gentleman with an R.I.P. Mitch Lane sticker on his car. Mitch was one of my inspirations on becoming a Green Beret. After talking to him he reminded me of the Lompoc Valley Fallen Warriors Memorial being built at Beattie Park. Even though this memorial is for fallen warriors the donar circle is for military or non military memorials.  As well as I know my dad, having donations go to this cause would make him extremely proud. I am shooting for the highest donation block but I am going to be completely happy with whichever block we achieve. 100% of the funds will go to the memorial. I will post a link to the memorial site below so you can check for yourself. I also encourage everyone that doesnt want to contribute to this gofundme to donate through the website on their own just because the cause is wonderful. When I was 20 years old I used to run from our house on 6th street to the top of Beattie Park where an old plaque commemorating SFC Mitch Lane’s service was laid. Now Mitch’s plaque will have a nicer home, and to have my fathers name in the same memorial also serving as inspiration to another young man getting ready to take life by the horns would be one our great honors and one that I know would fill him with pride and joy.

This cause is completely voluntary. It was born out of the many people who loved my father that are insisting to help. His services have been taken care of in the only way my parents would accept anything in life, on their own. This is my way of contributing in a way that will honor him and make him proud. Please donate if you feel the need but it is not required, we are happy with donations of love just the same. 100% of the donations will be going to the memorial regardless if recieve $75 or the ceiling target of $7,500.
