Memorial Contributions for Joe Sturtz

Donation protected
On New Year's day, we tragically and suddenly lost Joe Sturtz.

We're raising money for funeral expenses and related costs, including a short lunch for family and friends after the memorial service. Any leftover donations will go to the Toledo branch of Alcoholics Anonymous (http://www.toledoaa.com/).

Joe liked the simplicity of living in the moment. Life was at its best when he had a pipe in his hand, Bartley at his side and friends to visit. He drove a big dump truck for Wylie Trucking for the last 14 years, and never missed out on Tuesday AA meetings and Wednesday night Pipe Nights at The Cigar Affair.

He had a short temper, a big laugh and will be dearly missed by those lucky enough to have known him.

Joe is survived by his dog, Bartley; his niece, Rachel Sturtz, of Denver, CO, and nephews Tim Sturtz of Bellingham, WA, and Andrew Sturtz of Boulder, CO. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Kathleen Sturtz, and his brothers, Peter and Robert.

A celebration of Joe's life will take place Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Grace Church in Toledo (3700 Dorr St; http://gracetoledo.org/). If you like Chinese food as much as Joe did, join us after the service for lunch at 1 p.m. at Spring Buffet (1550 Spring Meadows Dr, Holland; https://www.facebook.com/SpringBuffet/).
