Memorial Expenses for Barbara Austin & Family
Donation protected
On Sunday, November 5, 2019, Barbara Austin passed away after a long struggle with kidney disease, leaving behind her daughters Holly and Teena. Barbara, affectionately called "Jams" by her daughters and her daughters' friends, was an amazing woman who loved her pets and rock and roll (especially Aerosmith). Jams was disabled for a long time, which prematurely ended a career she loved as a hair stylist. Her last wishes were to be cremated and have her urn sit next to the urn of her beloved dog Sissy. Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance to cover her funerary expenses. This GoFundMe is to both help fulfill her last wishes of cremation and to help fundraise for her family who should be grieving rather than worrying about all of the decisions and spending that comes with death.
Holly happens to be my best friend and she is one of the kindest people I know. Since I have known her, she has had a lot on her plate: we were just high school kids and she was going to school, working part-time, taking care of her mother, and still managing to have sleepovers with me. These responsibilities only increased over time, and Holly herself unfortunately has a medical condition that causes her to have multiple seizures per week, making her unable to work and drive. Even with everything going on, she always tries to help others when she can and cares for any animal who comes across her path. With the sudden loss of her mother's disability income, and the sudden loss of her job as Barbara's in-home nurse, she is in dire need of financial assistance. Any money which is left over from the cremation costs will go towards costs for a memorial service, the other costs associated with death, and the family's bills as they situate themselves after this family emergency.
Information about any memorial service will be posted here, and proof of services will be as well. Thank you so much for caring for Barbara, Holly, and Teena in this very sad and stressful time.
