Memorial Expenses for Cordell Lewis

On the early morning of January 16, 2022 Cordell suffered a severe asthmatic exacerbation that led to cardiac arrest. When Cordell lost consciousness his grandmother Shelley performed CPR and successfully got his pulse back. Unfortunately from when EMS arrived on scene until they got him to the ER in Alpine, Cordell had gone into cardiac arrest three more times.

After a couple of days we were finally able to get him transferred to MD Anderson in Houston for the higher level of care he desperately needed. At 72 hours in Houston, Cordell could no longer open his eyes nor responded to stimuli.

Despite his neurologist teams best efforts, Cordells brain scans showed the damage was irreversible. It was also at this time we learned his medical team did not believe he would be able to survive without the ventilator.

Cordell was pronounced on January 25th, 2022 and his soul is finally at home with the Lord

There was never a time Cordell backed down or walked away from something he wanted, regardless of the mountains that stood in his way. He also was never scared to talk about the things so many of us shy away from. Cordell has always made it clear that if he had the opportunity, he would be honored to donate his organs and help save lives.

Our Cordell did not lose a fight and walk away. Instead he is gifting so many people a second chance at a life they might not have had without him. ♥️

Cordell graduated from Marfa High School in 2015 and was on track to graduate with his Bachelor's degree from Sul Ross State University in June 2022.

Cordell touched so many hearts and our family could not be more grateful for each and everyone of you who has prayed and shared your memories of him with us.
