Memorial for Darren Boyle

Our dad Darren was a big character and one of a kind. He said ridiculous and hilarious things often and had some strong (not always politically correct) and passionate opinions. We accepted him for all his flaws and while loving him was not always the easiest, It was worth it, for the endless love we all receive back and for the gift of the big huge family and family of friends we have because of him.

So many knew him and had a soft spot for him, which I think is a testament to his unique humble and genuine persona.

Dad was a man of action over words and loved to help out anyone with anything, whether it was doing work, moving house, organising a party, being there anything important and loved a chance to give us a Harley convoy to any formal occasion. Even simple things like us driving places singing to music and just having a beer. He made sure our holidays were spent with each other by the beach and that we were always, aways very well fed. He taught us everything he knew and made sure we were connected with family, family friends and his communities in Australia and New Zealand. He loved spending time with his kids was so proud, as anyone who knew him knows. No matter how protective or tough he was, he was never too tough to give us all big huge hugs and scruffy kisses on the cheeks. He will be so deeply missed as our dad, a big bro, step dad, as a partner, co parent and especially as friend to many.


We lost Darren suddenly and unexpectedly and we are raising funds to go towards giving him the send off he deserves at his funeral/cremation, his wake, a memorial site in Richmond and in Norah head, as well as getting his ashes back to his family in NZ, covid restrictions permitting. Rather than flowers etc we are asking for any gifts of a small donation, any amount can help us make this possible and will be going directly to us, his children, who are making arrangements.
