Memorial for Dorone

Friends, family, and fans of Dorone,

In celebration of the beautiful soul and life of Dorone Jacobson-Gaue, a memorial is being hosted on January 29, 2023 at the Sunset Labs in Victoria, BC to mark his sudden passing on November 27, 2022.

Painter, debater, author, dancer, singer, model, jokester, confidante, intellectual and more beyond description, Dorone remains one of the most effervescent and brilliant people that those who are lucky to call him friend and family have ever known. To know him was to love him. His passing is an enormous loss, but Dorone’s memory is maintained through the community of people who will always fondly recall time spent with him, the indelible impressions he left on all of us, and through his incredible artwork.

This fundraiser is being organized by Dorone’s friends and family to cover the costs of a memorial - including providing food and printed materials during the memorial, the supplies for the creation of a mural in his honor, hosting a gallery of Dorone’s incredible artwork. Any additional funds raised will be donated to Our Place, SOLID, and the creation of care packages for folks on Pandora Street.

Sunset labs is at 400 Herald Street, Victoria. Food and refreshments at 1pm. From 2pm to 4pm, all are invited to share memories, stories, and loving words.

NOTE: Please plan for possible travel delays as the Lion Dance Parade for the Year of the Rabbit celebrations will be taking place that Sunday in the Chinatown area.
