In Loving Memory of Gregory Anthony Meza 1969-2022.
Greg was involved in a solo motorcycle accident in the early morning hours on March 6th. A Good Samaritan called 911 after finding him on the side of the road unconscious. His bike was located on the other side of the road, several feet away from him. When the paramedics arrived at Greg’s aid, they intubated him on site after finding a pulse and rushing him to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. He arrived at the ICU with many critical injuries to his body, including severe brain trauma, brain bleeds, brain swelling, collapsed lungs, and countless broken bones. He was also placed in a medically induced coma. Greg spent several weeks in the ICU before passing away on March 17th, 2022.
Greg left behind a mother, siblings, children, and grandchildren. He was a beloved and respected man who was a retired Army 1st Special Forces Green Beret MSG. Greg did many overseas tours for his beloved country. One of his last duty stations was in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor- Hickam as Part of the JPAC (I&R) search and recovery of the MIA KIA Group medical section. He was a man everyone looked up to and made fundamental differences in people's lives worldwide. He fought for everyone. He was a great teacher, mentor, and friend. He fought till the end. Greg was a true warrior. He is now resting with our Lord. We greatly appreciate the outpouring of sympathy and support we have received. We humbly seek to raise $15,000 to assist in the funeral cost and offset other accumulated costs along this arduous journey. The money helped raised will tremendously ease this hardship our entire family has faced.
