Memorial for Lois Krum (Humane Society of Utah)

Baba (Lois) is very loved, & she loved back! Perhaps nothing more than being the best mom she could brought her more joy than fostering kittens with me (Heidi, her favorite child). Over a decade, we fostered over 130 kittens (including momma cats) from the Humane Society of Utah.

Pictured here is Qtip Newton Krum, her grand-cat, who laid in her arms & comforted her for nearly 10 hours as her body began shutting down due to pneumonia. He purred & occasionally licked her arm. He grumbled a few hrs in when we had to reposition him so the nurses could do medical-y things for Baba, going right back as soon as they were done.

Qtip was 2 wks old when we got him as part of our 1st foster litter; Baba helped hand-raise him, including cleaning up poop-splosions & helping with syringe feedings. Baba loved her grand-cat, notably when he accompanied us on road trips or the many visits to the nursing home after Baba became bed-bound, such as Halloween (when Q would trick-or-treat @ Baba's room), Easter, & Mother's Day. This week Q turns 16 yrs old, & I find great comfort that Baba will be there to help him cross the rainbow bridge as his time approaches.

In lieu of flowers, Q is asking you to donate via this Go Fund Me campaign benefiting the Humane Society of Utah. (Work will match the first $1,500, which is why we're doing it via Go Fund Me, rather than as a direct charitable donation.) We will buy a memorial brick thingy if we're able to raise sufficient funds.

Baba lived a life of service & love, & was so generous. She wasn't perfect, but she never stopped trying. A donation in her honor would make her soooo happy, now that she is off to other adventures. :)
