Memorial for Paula Marie Booth
Donation protected
Her name is Paula Marie Booth but her family, friends and colleagues knew her as Marie. On the morning of March 17, 2021, Marie’s life was taken in a tragic incident of domestic violence.
Marie’s story is an inspiration to anyone looking to change their life. Marie was unsatisfied with her own life and decided to make significant changes starting with her education. She put herself through undergrad at Salem College and graduated in 2015. After graduating, she enrolled at Elon University Law School and graduated with the Class of December '17 - Elon’s first class to graduate from its accelerated 2.5 year program. She passed the North Carolina Bar exam and worked as a Contracts Manager at Collins Aerospace in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was highly respected and continuously praised for her hard work and determination.
Marie was an outspoken advocate for women's empowerment and women’s rights, and frequently promoted self-worth. Marie’s goals were focused on making a successful life for herself so she could provide a better life for her son Jacob, who is now 16 years old and in high school. Jacob was Marie’s greatest accomplishment and she prided herself on being a devoted mother who raised an intelligent, strong and confident young man. He is a wonderful legacy of Marie.
The tragic incident on March 17 left Jacob to continue his life’s journey without his mom by his side. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise funds for Jacob to help him finish high school, follow his college dreams, and create a life of his own, while continuing to make his mom proud. He is an elite soccer player and has a great future in soccer.
While we will never be able to give Jacob back his loving mother, we can financially help give him the life Marie was working so incredibly hard to give him. We are working with Marie's family to have a trust set up in Jacob's name to administer the funds, as needed.
If you are able and willing to contribute, it is greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind, there is a 2.9% and $0.30 transaction fee associated with each donation. If you are able, please account for these fees in your donation and round up to ensure that Jacob receives that maximum amount possible.
We love you Marie, you are dearly missed.
