Memorial For Phillip John Hadfield
Phillip John Hadfield passed away on February 13th, 2020 at 11:45 A.M. He was my Dad and a man who sacrificed more for his family than any father ought to. He worked for years to give my brothers and my mother the best life we could and was one of the kindest men I've ever met. Phil Hadfield was the most intelligent and loving men that the world has ever seen and I believe even at 76 years old, he still had a lot to teach. As a father, he was always there for my brothers and I. He went to everything we did, from Boy Scouts to sports and was always there when we needed him. He always took the time to be there and his laugh could fill almost any room. I don't think there is a thing I would ever change about him as a person and the world lost an amazing man.
After losing his leg to a heart attack induced blood clot on October 2nd, 2018, he had a constant life of surgeries and dialysis before being brought in on January 2nd, 2020 for some swelling in his leg which quickly turned in to needing a bypass surgery. The night of the surgery was the last time I was properly able to speak with him. He told me that he wasn't worried about what would happen to him. He just wanted to know more than anything that the rest of us will be okay and that he loved us more than anything. That night, due to complications during recovery, he was left unable to move or speak and declined in health before finally being brought home where he passed peacefully in his sleep.
While I am glad he was able to be comfortable in his last moments, he didn't deserve this. My family wishes to give him a proper memorial at Athabasca Falls in Canada which is where he said he wanted his ashes to be spread. However, due to medical bills, my mother is on the verge of losing everything financially and as much as my brothers and I try to help, we are unable to do so completely by ourselves. We want to honor my dads wishes in the best way possible, and my family is in desperate need to make sure my mother is okay. that is why we are reaching out. We love our parents and my brothers and I want to honor my father while making sure my mother is ok and we just can not do it alone.
Thank you, to all who wish to donate, but especially to those who can just spread the word. Not for this campaign, but about my father. He was an amazing man, and I believe he serves as an inspiration to Dads everywhere.
