Memorial for the Unborn, Stars & Stripes Project

My name is Maura Caines, I am an American Heritage Girls Stars & Stripes Award Candidate, and I am working to install a memorial for the unborn at St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church in Fairfax, Virginia. This project will be the first of its kind for St. Mary’s, and the memorial will provide everyone with a place to reflect and pray, whether mourning a miscarried child, suffering from an abortion, or seeking to pray for unborn babies. The memorial will remind visitors of all the lost, innocent souls, giving them a peaceful and comforting place to pray and grow closer to God. This memorial will impact hundreds of individuals because it will be open to St. Mary’s parishioners, all Diocese of Arlington parishes, and the general public. There are about half a million Catholics in this area, all of whom would have the potential to be impacted by this memorial. This memorial for the unborn will provide a place for everyone to speak to God and find peace and healing through prayer.

The total cost of installing the memorial is estimated to be $5,000

It is with these things in mind that I humbly ask for your assistance in funding the installation of the memorial. Donations will be used to fund supplies needed for a brick patio, a bench, garden plants, the memorial statue, and much more needed for the creation of the memorial. Thank you for your help!
