Memorial for Vivian James at Atlantic Coast HS
Donation protected
With her vivacious personality and caring demeanor, Vivian James was a ray of light at Atlantic Coast ever since this high school opened in 2010. So many of her students and colleagues have fond memories of the way Ms. James made them smile and laugh on a daily basis. She truly was one of a kind which is why we'd like to create a permanent memorial for her in our courtyard.
Our plans include paving an area in the ACHS courtyard and adding benches and tables. There would also be a large plaque that explains why Ms. James was so special, and it would ensure that her life will always be celebrated at a school she made such a huge impact at.
Donations of any amount will help us build a shrine to this beloved Stingray. If we collect more money than what we need for this project, then the excess will be donated to her family.
Also, we welcome any assistance that any local companies or professionals are able to provide in donating labor and/or materials for this project. If you're able to help with this aspect of the project, please contact us by using the information provided within this GoFundMe account.
For those that are wondering, I am a teacher at Atlantic Coast. Our principal, Mrs. Zeina Spaulding has given me permission to organize this fundraiser. She also asked that I spread the word about this effort to the local media which I have done.
Once we return to school on January 6th, we will have a clearer idea of specific plans for this memorial in honor of Ms. James. We will get some estimates on what each item will cost, and we will be sure to share that with everyone here.
When the time comes to withdraw the money, I will hand every penny over to Principal Spaulding and our school’s administration. They will have an idea of the budget for this project, and they will be in charge of deciding how much money is given to Ms. James’ family. Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
