Memorial for Welkovits-Brown Twins & Family
Donation protected
Councilwoman Susie Welkovits Brown was a true champion for her community; a fierce advocate for public schools, and pedestrian and bicycle access. What she cherished most, though, was being a mother to her 11-year-old twins.
Susie fell ill in early March and was hospitalized in New Jersey. During her time in the hospital, her illness was compounded by the fact that she acquired COVID-19 during her stay. After months of fighting, Susie died as a result of an emergency procedure on the morning of July 3rd, 2020. She is survived by her husband and twins.
As a result of Susie's prolonged hospital stay and passing, her family is facing financial hardship. They now have even more expenses associated with her passing. Her family is understandably devastated and it is important for her children to be able to stay in their home and continue their activities and programs without disruption. Contributions from this page will be used for Susie's medical expenses that she incurred, payments on their house, her children's extracurricular activities, and living expenses for her surviving husband and children and their pets. Any contributions that exceed the amount necessary to cover the above will be put into accounts for the children's future needs and education.
*I, Meredith Fox, organized this page and am one of Susie's cousins on her father's side. This GoFundMe was created with permission of her immediate family who will benefit from it.
