Memorial Fund for Bernadette Estrada

Donation protected
Our lives changed forever on April 18, 2020 when our beloved Bernadette Estrada lost her battle to cancer.

If you ask anyone who knew her, they would all say Bernadette was the brightest light in any room--  a constant source of sunshine.  Her energy was so pure and her smile undeniably contagious.

Bernadette is survived by her mother and father, six brothers and sisters, her husband Edgar, two beautiful boys Edmond and Erickson, and thousands of friends and colleagues who miss her dearly.

Bernadette's loving and infectious personality served her well in her many years as a Registered Nurse.  She graced the halls of Loma Linda University Medical Center, City of Hope National Medical Center, and Kaiser Ontario Medical Center.  She was an amazing nurse, always working for the safety of her patients and to provide her two boys with all that life has to offer.  She was always picking up extra shifts and working long hours, yet not once did she ever complain nor did her smile ever waver.  Bernadette worked until the very end of both of her pregnancies, delivering her first son just about 24 hours after getting off of a 12 hour night shift.   She kept working in any way she could through her chemo sessions, only taking time off for surgeries, and returned to full regular duty in the PACU immediately after her 22nd round of chemo.  She was the true embodiment loyalty and dedication.

Bernadette touched the lives of so many patients, but also of thousands of people who are better just for knowing her.  Her legacy will forever live on in the countless memories and stories that we've all been reliving since hearing of her passing.  We all are saddened by our great loss, but can't help but smile in the realization of how blessed we are to have known such a beautiful soul.

Funds raised will be split between the Santos and Estrada families to help them during this difficult time.  Your generous donations are greatly appreciated.

Rest well sweet Bernadette.
