Memorial Fund for Edward Barnard
Donation protected
Hi friends and family,
There’s no easy way to say this. I’m writing because my gregarious, empathetic and iconically bearded dad Edward Barnard passed away unexpectedly on October 5th at the age of 66.
My dad was one of the most kindhearted people I have ever met and always made sure I was supported and loved on my journey. He added such compassion, curiosity, and humor to the world – from his warm bedside manner with his physical therapy patients over the course of his 40 year career, to cracking up a roomful of preschool-aged kiddos in his church classes. He was a dedicated lover of the arts and sciences, especially those my sister and I pursued.
My dad was voted “Most Talkative” in high school and never stopped winning people over with his stories, which is what I’ll miss most. Cheekily dubbed “Lil Papa Frodo” by my sister and I, he showed us that the world is surprising, miraculous and worth greeting with an open heart. He reminded us to look up at the sky, to marvel at the stars and to cry with others at the theatre.
Unfortunately, in the wake of his abrupt passing, my mom, my sister, and I are in need of some financial assistance to cover current & future memorial costs, as well as immediate living expenses. We are each using personal savings, however, because end-of-life planning was not completed prior to his unforeseen passing, we’ve each had to regularly take time away from work and travel to Reno in order to settle his affairs . . . plus, death is just expensive.
If you feel like you could support us at this time, in any amount, we would be so grateful. If you are unable to give at this time, I ask that you share this fundraiser.
Thank you,
