Memorial Fund for Hubert Obasanya

Hi, my name is Adelaide. I am fundraising for my brother Hubert Olatunde Obasanya who passed away on Sunday, December 5th, 2021. He was 25 years old.

My hope in creating this memorial fundraiser is to celebrate my brother's memory, ease the pain in the hearts of every soul that he touched through his experimental music, original artistic style, and off-the-wall stand-up comedy by allowing them to contribute what they can to an amazing soul. These funds will be used to pay for his funeral services which we plan to hold within the next 1-2 weeks, more details to come.

More about my beloved brother Hubert:

Hubert was a gentle giant. When anyone saw Hubert, William, and I together, everyone assumed that he was the oldest because he was the tallest. Ever since we were little, he'd always been someone that I could go to with my struggles. When I talked, he listened. When I cried, he held space for me to let it out. When I chuckled, he guffawed. And I did the same for him. As his older sister, I admired him so much for his deep level of empathy and compassion that he showed everyone no matter their background.

I loved my brother and I know many of you reading this right now loved him too. The amount of instances I ran into a mutual friend who exclaimed "Wait? You're Hubert's sister? Hubert is SO awesome," is more than I can count. He really was. He really, really, really was. Thank you to all of you - from elementary school, middle school, high school, and early adult life - who have expressed this to me. Knowing that my brother was loved by so many helps so much during this time of grieving.

Any donation you can make will help. This will deeply benefit my mother, who is single mom, my youngest brother William, and my immediate family who are grieving. Please share so we can give Hubert the best transition into his new life on the other side.
