It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our father Jimmy D. Hernandez on Friday June 28th at 12:26am. He was the Pastor of New Life Ministry Church in Georgetown, Texas for over 20 years and traveled in Music Ministry for over 40 years.
Jimmy was born on July 1st, 1946 in Georgetown Texas and resided in Georgetown for all his life. He began working for Texas Crushed Stone in Georgetown Texas in 1963 and devoted 33 years of his life till his retirement in 1996. Jimmy went into full time ministry as the Pastor of New Life Ministry in 1996 and was The Senior Pastor for 23 years Loving God, Loving People, and Changing Lives.
Jimmy leaves behind his loving wife Rebecca Hernandez and his children Mike Hernandez, Jimmy Alan Hernandez, Dina Hernandez, 2 daughter in laws and celebrated 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grand children. He is survived by his siblings Esther Garcia, Martha Ramos, Julio Hernandez, Rosa Orona, Rachel Vasquez, Mary Hernandez, Kim Pierce, Johnny Hernandez and is preceded in death by Julio Hernandez Sr, Sarah Diaz Hernandez, Melissa Ann Lomas, and Susan Crisostomo.
Jimmy loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing multiple musical instruments and attending church functions. Jimmy welcomed everyone with a contagious smile and would love telling stories of family or telling a joke in the comfort of his home or church office.
In memory of Jimmy Hernandez, and in support of his wife, this Go Fund Me page has been created.
All proceeds will go directly to his wife Rebecca to help mitigate any unforeseen costs related to Jimmy's passing and help support her financially in the months to come.
