Memorial Fund For Lynette Caroline St John
Donation protected
My name is Lewis St John, I am Lynette’s oldest son.
Unfortunately, I have to set up this Go Fund me page as my mum has recently lost her battle to lung cancer. She was diagnosed with terminal Small Cell lung cancer in May 2020 after losing her voice, the cancer was in it’s late stages and she did not wish to know her prognosis, my mum fought her hardest to stay with us, any one that knew my mum are well aware how she was a fighter and defiant until the end!
My mum was admitted to Holme Towers Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth on 26th October 2020 but she went in to the hospice at the time Wales was put into lockdown (Fire Break) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, no one was allowed to visit my mum apart from our nan but she was restricted to visiting for just one hour a day by appointment, the rules due to lockdown/fire break were heart-breaking and we didn’t get to say goodbye to our mum which breaks our hearts. My mum did get to see my brothers Oshea 10, Fabian 7 and our sister Neveah 5 on her last three days being with us, but sadly she passed away on Tuesday 3rd November with our nan by her side, she passed away peacefully and in the comfort of an amazing hospice.
For those who know Lynette, would know just of how full of life she was and how her voice could be heard from miles and miles away! Lol. She was both a joy and a menace to be around but we loved her too bits as she was our mum. We will miss her every single day and it breaks us to think she won’t be around anymore, but, we do live in the comfort that we will each see her again when it’s our own time as she will be waiting for us with open arms, and a cuppa tea! She was in physical pain for a long time and we are now happy and relieved that she isn’t in discomfort anymore and our Bampi Brian and sister Morgan are looking after her and catching up.
Lynette was a Sister, Daughter, Wife, Friend, Cousin, Aunty and a Mother of 7, me (Lewis) being the oldest child at 22 and Neveah the youngest at 5 years old.
The money raised through this page will be spent on funeral costs as we have arranged a funeral home to take care of the burial but it is costing £3000 for the funeral and burial fees, we hope to give her a send-off that she deserves and hope to raise just a little towards the fees, unfortunately we are asking for help with donations if possible to say goodbye to our amazing mum... if we can raise even £1000 that would be fantastic and would go a long way to helping us raise some of the burial costs. We’re not expecting anything though but have set this page up in hope just to lighten the burden of the expense of burying our beloved mum.
Myself, my brothers and my sister are currently living with our Nan in a 3 bedroom house in Tremorfa, Cardiff so we live in a very busy house which my mum loved being a part of, my mum was hear with us until the hospice so life in our house is not the same at the moment.
As a family we do want to say THANK YOU to whoever has helped with a donation so far and for anyone that helps. We are expecting the funeral service to be in around 4 weeks time as per advised by the funeral home where my mum will rest until then, unfortunately due to the virus and the time of year the time wait for a burial in Cardiff is long at the moment, we are currently arranging things but all details are pending.
My mum’s life should be celebrated and she deserves a decent send off, anyone that knew her knew first hand that she was a crazy lady at times with a huge heart of gold, anyone that met Lynette surely would never forget her! She made an impact for sure! She would do anything for anyone and sometimes made the wrong choices, but don’t we all at times? We are only human after all. She will be forever missed dearly and we can’t wait to see you again mum!
LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER X X X X X X X
