Memorial Fund For Melisa

Melisa “Pretty Melly” Woolery earned her wings on Friday July 7, 2023. As many of you may know Mel is a Lupus Warrior. Melisa has fought a long and beautiful fight for over a year. In February 2022 Melisa’s dream of becoming a mother came true, but after giving birth to her beautiful baby girl at 5 month gestation her life changed drastically. Shortly after Melisa fought through a heart attack, medically induced coma, being on ecmo, doing dialysis daily and then a triple organ transplant. Melisa fought hard through all of this and beat the odds against her. After being hospitalized for one year and three weeks the day we all prayed for finally came. On Wednesday July 5, 2023 Melisa was discharged from the hospital. This was now her road to recovery and that suddenly changed with no warning, or any indication of why. Our beautiful daughter/sister/cousin/friend was called home. Due to this sudden occurrence, we the family now have a short amount of time to lay Melisa to rest and give her the celebration of life she deserves. If you knew Melisa personally then you knew she loved life. She was always smiling , always jokey, always brightening up a room regardless of what she may have been dealing with. Melisa always lent a helping hand to anyone and now it is our turn to show her that same love and assistance in return. Any proceeds left over will go into an account for her beautiful daughter Marlee. Marlee is Melisa’s legacy and Melisa wanted nothing more than to be a mother.
