Memorial Fund for My Father, Felix F. Mendoza

Hi, my name is Valerie and I’m the only daughter of Felix “Veneer” Felipe Mendoza. Yesterday, May 25th, 2022, I received a call from the County of San Diego that my dad passed away. He suffered from several mental health issues and drug and alcohol addictions. I spent a lot of my time growing up trying to help save him and do what I can for him with the help of my mother, my grandparents, and my aunties and uncles, who are siblings of my father, as well as the rest of my dad’s side of my family. My dad enjoyed singing, dancing, playing the guitar, painting, and drawing. When we’d have family parties, you’d always see him with a guitar or singing karaoke, sometimes both. When I was younger, we used to play video games together on his Xbox 360, COD and Splinter Cell especially. These moments that I shared with him I cherished the most. My dad was my first best friend and if there’s one thing I wish, it would be to have one last moment together at least being there for him when he went, to hug him one last time or to just say I love you. He always told me to “learn as much as you can” so I’m trying my best as a college student majoring in Psychology, while working at the same time.

 

I’m starting this fundraiser for all the things I may need for his funeral, and other expenses I will still need to figure out as we are awaiting his autopsy. But for the mean time, I would really appreciate it if you could show your love and support in any possible way.
