Memorial Fund for Patricia “Patty” Ann Bouchard

Donation protected
After much thought, my family and I have decided to start a memorial fund for my mother. This will be a place for friends and family to come and share photos, memories, and love. Our memorial is an important opportunity for friends and family to create meaning from loss, strengthen bonds, and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman. This memorial is also a place where we can bridge the gap between those who want to help, but aren’t sure how.  We are accepting donations for funeral/cremation expenses and to help relieve some of the financial stress we are facing during an already difficult time. We are devastated of the passing of such a loving and devoted mother and are struggling to find the funds associated with losing a loved one. My family is not only grieving, but trying to find a way to financially give my mother the service she truly deserves. Patty touched many lives and those who met her, surely never forgot her. After many phone calls, quotes, estimates, etc...average costs to have a service, not including burial, is anywhere between $6,000-$8,000. I plan on paying most of these costs myself, with my brother Shawn’s help, and am only seeking help with a small fraction of the costs. I will have an itemized list of costs soon so people have an idea of how there donation will help. We are truly thankful for the communities love and support and we look forward to hearing others memories, and seeing photos, of our beloved mother. We know our mom wouldn’t have wanted us to stress this, or walk away with more debt, so we have tried to make every decision we’ve made based on what our mom would want, and we truly believe she would want us to accept some of the help offered, especially to those who have asked how they can help/donate. This has been one of the most challenging times of our lives and we are doing the best we can. If our mom touched your life in any way than we encourage you to leave a memory or photo, and if at all possible during these trying times, a small donation.

Obituary:

Patricia “Patty” Ann Bouchard passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning hours of May 28th, 2020.  She was born Patricia Ann O’dell in St. Albans, VT, on August 4th, 1959, to parents Irene O’delland Kenneth Earl (both deceased).  Patty, one of 11 children, was a twin sister to Michael O’dell of St. Albans. Her other brothers and sisters include Karen Patrick, Susan O’dell, Laurie Paradis, Gary O’dell, Tom O’dell, Sharon Murphy, Donna Larose, Carol Rohall, and Stephen O’dell. August 27th, 1986, Patty married Raymond Claude Bouchard and she leaves behind her 2 children, Sarah and Shawn Bouchard.

Most people remember Patty for her way with people.  Through her years as a receptionist for the St. Albans Town Educational Center, the Northwestern Medical Center, and the St. Albans City Police Department, she touched manymany lives.  She absolutely loved people, especially children, and it showed in her work.  No matter how you were feeling before, you were bound to feel better after seeing Patty.  She lit up every room she entered and added so much to so many of our lives.

Her love of her children and grandchildren was the only love that came before her love of Pepsi.  Anyone who knew Patty knew that she was proud of her children and that she loved them unconditionally.  Between her son’s Champlain College graduation ceremony and the births of her two granddaughters, McKenzie and RaeLynn Levick, Patty was always filled with love, pride and joy.

When she wasn’t with her grandchildren, Patty was happiest when relaxing, rocking in her chair, and talking with her sisters on the phone, or spending time and traveling with Alex Wright, the second love of her life.  Many people don’t find one person that loves them like Claude and Alex loved Patty, but Patty found two who loved her until the very end. A memorial fund for Patty can be found at gofundme.com named “Memorial Fund for Patricia “Patty” Ann Bouchard” for a place to share memories and love, donations welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, be kind.
