Memorial fund for Pete Deacon

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amber. My dear friend, Shelbi Deacon, suffered the tragic and unexpected loss of her husband Pete Deacon (43 years old) last week, leaving behind her and their two children, Axl (4 years old) and Ford (3 months old).

Pete was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many. My son and I called him “uncle Kool Aid Pete”. Shelbi’s words describe their love and Pete the best (below).

His absence has left Shelbi, their children, their family and so many friends heartbroken. Shelbi and Pete were the ultimate team and without her partner the financial burden with two children under 5 will be daunting and unsure.

The funds will go directly to Shelbi, Axl and Ford for any funeral costs, unexpected bills and to continue to provide support for Axl and Ford’s future.

A link to Pete’s obituary is below as well with an option to donate to a college fund set up for Axl and Ford.

“We lost Pete this week very suddenly.

My heart is shattered. Pete was everything to me and to our sons. He taught me how to find joy every day. He lit up seeing his boys and no matter how hard his work day was, he came home at night in Dad-mode, ready to play and take care of us. He was absolutely the greatest father I have ever known. These boys will feel the lasting effects of that for their entire lives and I will never stop telling them about the things their daddy did with them and for them. He was never impatient, never raised his voice or got frustrated with them. All he did was love them with everything he had.

He tried to be so tough on the outside, but everyone who knew him knew his insides were mush. He would do anything for anyone, at anytime. He taught me what it felt like to be loved. I loved him so deeply, and he knew it. We lived our life together as if every day was our last, giving our kids the best days we could, never going to bed angry, and always saying I love you. He took such amazing care of me. We went through so much together and were able to be such huge supporters of one another. No regrets, nothing unsaid. That is a small comfort as my heart continues to shatter into pieces.

The years our family had together were a gift, and I will spend every day of my life feeling blessed that I got to experience what this kind of love felt like. He helped build this beautiful life we had and I will always have that foundation. I will always have his beautiful sons, who look and act just like him. I will always have our love.

I don’t know how to do my life without him. We were teammates in every sense of the word. I will never be able to fill the void that he left in me and I don’t know if I’ll ever want to. I am so grateful to have these wonderful boys and all the support from our friends and family. Please keep reaching out if you feel inclined, the calls and messages are helping me through.” - Shelbi Deacon
