Memorial fund for Teddy Gutierrez

Dear Family and Friends of Teddy Gutierrez,
It is with great sadness that on July 18th, 2022 we lost our loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend Teodoro. On July 1st my dad Ted was admitted into the hospital after suffering an ischemic (right brain) stroke which left him paralyzed from the whole left side of his body, unable to talk, walk, or even eat. By the time he was admitted they said it was too late for blood thinners as they had no idea how long he had even been in a stroke. This was all caused because he was also diagnosed with COVID 19 which thickens the blood and causes severe complications to people of pre existing conditions, which unfortunately if you knew my dad, you knew he suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure. Everyday was a fight after that, we were told it was likely that he would recover with a lot of therapy but he would never be back at 100% and was likely that he would never be able to walk again. We were hopeful and looking forward to brighter days but as the days progressed, his conditions continued to worsen.. within the next week he went into surgery to have a permanent feeding tube placed in his stomach and his tube for dialysis placed because at that time his kidneys began to fail. from there they said he would need dialysis 3 times a week to filter his blood and take out the toxins that his kidneys could no longer do. At this point me and my siblings were all desperate and were willing to get tested to see if we would be able to donate one of our kidneys to help him, but unfortunately doctors said that it wouldn’t be possible because since he had diabetes and high blood pressure, it was likely that his body would reject the new kidney. days later we were told that his fight was slowly coming to an end.. his heart was slowly stopping and was no longer able to pump the blood he needed to keep his body alive on his own. he was on life support for 2 days before he passed and eventually his heart just stopped. the fight was over and he was no longer suffering. At the age of 54 he was gone. Despite all the pain and suffering that he endured he was a great Man, a Proud Father, Uncle and Brother. My dad lived every day to the fullest and was always full of love and joy. He knew how to make people laugh and was always big on staying grateful for everything he had. I was proud to call him my dad. While we are all heartbroken over his passing, we know that he is in a better place and is watching over us from this point on. I am here just to ask for any contributions to help with his funeral services so we can lay him to rest and that way everyone is able to say our last goodbyes. Even if it’s just a share , it goes a long way to help spread the word I thank everyone who has reached out and supporting Me and my family during such a difficult time right now.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and acknowledge, everyone’s prayers and condolences are helping us significantly during a time like this.
