Memorial Fund for The Kirksey Family
Donation protected
This GoFundMe page was setup by Photron for Shane's family. Shane was employed as an Application Engineering Manager with Photron USA located in San Diego, California. It will be managed by his wife Melissa. All of the money raised will go directly to Shane's six daughters to help with any of their expenses, including their educational costs.
It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we share the unexpected passing of (Clifton) Shane Kirksey on September 29th. Shane was a loving and devoted father to six little girls, a husband, son, brother, and friend who was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
Shane grew up with a desire to be in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served his country proudly for eight years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served two tours in Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V”, a Purple Heart Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V”, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and Iraq Campaign Medal, and many more commendations during his military career.
Shane also attended the West Coast Baptist Institute where he received his degree in Pastoral Theology. He loved serving his Lord and led many to Christ during his life. One of his greatest testimonies was while serving in the military, someone found a Bible and placed it on his bunk because they always saw him reading and studying.
He was an avid outdoorsman, and particularly enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing trips on the gulf with his Dad and children. He became a certified scuba diver at age 12 and enjoyed diving for many years.
But most of all, he loved spending time with his beautiful daughters, he had a strong love and loyalty to his family. Shane is survived by his daughters, Jordynn, Audrey, Lydia, Robyn, Elayna, and Olyvia Kirksey; and his wife, Melissa.
Those who knew Shane were forever impacted by his warm and generous personality. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. We love you Shane.
