Tom Kenning's Memorial Fund
For the last 4 years Tom Kenning has been fighting throat cancer. The doctors had to cut out his voice box and give him chemotherapy and radiation for quite some time.
On April 30,2020, Tom was hospitalized with stomach and other issues. While in the Hospital, he started having continuous seizures causing a lot of brain damage. Because of that, they had to induce a coma. After recovering from Pneumonia in the ICU at Kadlec Hospital, he was transferred to North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital (NIACH) for evaluation and physical therapy. After a short period it was determined that the brain damage was too extensive to rehabilitate and sustain his life independently. With the cancer also coming back it was decided to put Tom into Hospice at NIACH. On 7/10/2020 Tom entered Hospice and on 7/27/2020 Tom exited Hospice peacefully in his sleep.
Tom is survived by his wife Rachel and three sons, Nicholas, Sean and Jared. He is also survived by six grandchildren Jaeden, Noah, Rosalyn, Kolby, Karlee and Felicity. Also living: Father: Todd, Siblings: Kerry, Kami and Don. Tom's Mother, Joan, preceded him in death.
With the current Covid-19 situation is it uncertain when/if there will be a memorial service, however, we are working toward early October for Tom's commemoration. It is our intent to provide options for on-line participation as well as an in-person service here in Kennewick. We will post updates as time goes on.
The family appreciates your overwhelming support during this difficult time. Now, more than ever, we are glad to have you in our lives.
Contributions to this fund will help with Tom's final expenses.
May God bless the path you tread.
