Memorial Fund for Wayne Cabral

Donation protected

It is with great sadness and disbelief that we announce the sudden and very unexpected passing of Wayne Cabral at only 53 years old.

Wayne leaves behind his loving wife, Kim, his sons, Alex and Erik, and his three stepchildren he loved as his own, Rachel, Emily, and Jacob. As you can imagine Kim and the children are devastated by the loss of their amazing husband and father.

Wayne was a very special person with a huge heart of gold. He would light up any room he entered with his warm smile, kind words, and the way he treated everyone he met. He genuinely cared about everybody he interacted with, could remember details about people’s family members and when he asked how you were doing, he really wanted to know. Let’s not forget about those awesome warm hugs... He loved and cared deeply for everyone around him whether it was his family, friends, or co-workers, and he never held back in showing his feelings for us all. Wayne supported so many of us, leading by example, taking time to teach skills and always having time to listen to each of our stories, happy or sad.

Wayne worked for many agencies over the years including AMR Hartford, Windsor Volunteer Ambulance, Granby Ambulance, Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance, and ended his career at Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance. He also volunteered his time with Lost Acres Fire Department. Wayne was a proud member of the U.S. Army, and a huge airplane aficionado.

The Cabral Family is now in need of any and all support we can give to help ease the huge financial burden a sudden hospitalization and loss brings.

During this time they will need help with funeral expenses and medical bills accumulated from his stay in the hospital. The funds will help out tremendously, while they try to work out the intricate details of day to day life without Wayne.

This loss is deeply personal to each of us, as Wayne touched countless lives throughout his life and career in EMS. He was one hell of a Husband, Father, Friend, Partner and Medic. We are all better off for knowing him and he definitely left the world a better place than he found it.

Please keep this family in your prayers, and thank you for any help you may give.  Even if you are not in a position to help out financially, please share this GoFundMe page with all of your friends and family.
