Memorial medical funds for Peter Horton's family

For almost 50 years, Peter Horton brought light, laughter, creativity, acceptance, curiosity and giant wrap-around hugs wherever he went. His generous spirit and love of life filled a room, as well as the hearts of hundreds of people whose lives he touched. Peter had a way of not just helping people understand they were special to him, but recognizing and embracing the fact that each of us is special for who we are. He saw the individual sparkle in each of us and thought it was super cool. From growing up in his hometown in Jacksonville, Arkansas to attending college in Fayetteville and living in Rogers with his family to his circles of creative minds online and off, Peter spread kindness. Since his death on May 1 from complications of COVID, countless friends have spoken of this uncommon kindness and the light and good times he shared with them. Peter is survived by his wife, Beth Horton, who has been his best friend and the love of his life for three decades, and their bright children, Jack and Ginny. They were his everything, his deepest source of joy. Peter’s illness hospitalized him for 17 days weeks of seemingly endless testing, full of incremental progress and discouraging setbacks. His final 11 days were in the ICU, where his physicians did all they could until there were no more ways to heal him. In the wake of his death, the medical bills now starting to arrive are adding up quickly. The family’s budget has also suffered the loss of Peter’s income, compounding the financial burden. Let’s come together, friends and strangers connected through affection for Peter, to show support for the family he loved so much.
