Memorial MN State Fair Bench for Frank
Donation protected
***update, we’ve raised all $2,500 and the bench has been paid for!!
For many years, Frank loved going to the Minnesota State Fair. He’d spend hours there with his family, for multiple days every year. Some of his favorite things to do were getting tacos at his favorite Mexican stand when we’d first walk in, pairing it with a root beer, getting ice cream at the john deere tractor stand, where they make ice cream from the tractors, while looking at all of the full sized tractors. Watching the parade everyday at noon in our secret spot by the space tower, where there wasn’t very many people, riding on the sky-gliders to get to the other side of the fair, where we’d get his favorite corndog, and strawberries and cream, sitting on one of the state fair benches to take a break.
Getting a henna tattoo every year with me, where we would wait in line for hours sometimes, riding the crazy mouse with me every year, multiple times, like seriously, at least 5 different times that day because it was my favorite, and I didn’t have anyone else to go, he’d always buy the picture the ride took of us. He’d also wait in line for hours to go on the River Raft ride with me, and I mean hours sometimes, in the sun, just waiting to go on a 5 minute ride to get completely soaked with water, having to walk around with wet pants all day. He’d go as many times as I wanted.
People-watching was a huge part of the fair for us. We’d sit for hours on the benches, just watching the different types of people walk by. He would save up for the whole year to buy us anything we wanted. Food, rides, games, and lots of jewelry, clothes, etc. He loved going into the DNR building, to look at animals, and look at the fish in the large pond. We would end our day with a cream puff, probably the largest ones I’ve ever seen.
You might be asking why I am sharing all this with you. I'm telling you this, as I would love to get a Minnesota State Fair memorial bench for him, so that he always has a place at the state fair, one of his favorite places to be. The bench is a donation cost of $2,500, which can be personalized.
The bench for the state fair will be placed in 2023. If you are able to give anything, it would be highly appreciated. You may also donate via Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle.
