Memorial Service for Shirley Binion
Donation protected
Even if you have never met Shirley Ann Binion, you have no doubt been touched by the life of one of her six children.
In 1974, Bob and Shirley Binion sold their home and furniture business in Downtown McKinney, bought a bus, and took their family on the road to travel the nation spreading the Gospel through singing and preaching. They devoted their lives to the work of the Lord.
Over the past year, Shirley has been at death's door many times, but this past Saturday morning she made her grand entrance into Heaven.
Even while in a nursing home, this praying momma could still touch Heaven! On the very Saturday that she passed, one of the nurses shared this testimony with Shirley’s daughter, Lisa:
“She told me that her son was an alcoholic and that she had asked my mom to pray for him, and right there in that moment my mother took her by the hands and began to pray. ‘God, just make him miserable in his addiction and turn his heart toward You.’ That nurse told me today that her son came home 3 months ago after a night of drinking and told her he is so miserable!! The nurse also told me he hasn’t had a drink since that night...he’s been sober for 3 months now. Oh, how my mother could pray!”
Here’s the challenge: Shirley Binion had no life insurance and no funds set aside to pay for funeral expenses. The last several months of medical costs have taken a financial toll on her sweet husband, Bob.
Many of you have asked how you could help the Binion family during this time. The greatest blessing for them would be if you would consider making a small donation to help the family cover her final expenses.
