Memorial Service for Yanick Beaubrun

Yanick Beaubrun (64) passed away on April 8th, 2020 at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow after losing to a week-long battle fighting COVID-19. Yanick is survived by her former spouse, three children and seven grandchildren. My name is Jennifer Fingado, the second of Yanick’s 3 children and I have started this campaign to fund a memorial service to celebrate her life. My mother was my best-friend and I miss her more than words can express.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1955, Yanick migrated to Brooklyn, NY in the 70’s to pursue the American dream. She married, had children, divorced-she lived life. Her motto was, “You can rise above any circumstance with hard work, integrity, faith and especially persistence”. As a Health Care Assistant since 1977 Yanick has compassionately touched the lives of countless elderly and disabled clients providing direct care.
Yanick was a true New Yorker who loved the hustle and bustle of the city. She was an avid public transit user and enjoyed the energy of being among the crowds. She was a well known community fixture that supported small business owners and street performers. She was a dynamic, resilient woman that valued her independence and privacy. My mother loved the Lord and worshiped His name by reading the bible, singing hymns, praise dancing, attending church services, tithing and fasting.
I never imagined that my mother would lose her life in such a tragic way to Covid-19 so suddenly. Due visitation restrictions I solely depended on medical staff to comfort her during her final hours and I’m forever grateful for the FaceTime call where I cried, screamed, prayed and said good-bye to my mother for the last time. The only thought that comforts my broken heart is that God is all knowing & makes no mistakes.
The funds raised from this campaign will be used for the Celebration of Life Service for Yanick Rose Beaubrun. Any proceeds that exceed the initial goal will be used inter her cremains in a columbarium. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Your prayers, support and kind gestures are a source of light and hope during this dark time.
