Memorial Tree for Doug Fruchey

Hello to my friends and family. I started this GoFundMe in honor of my late husband, Douglas Fruchey. He was, and always will be, everything to me. I'd like to give him the best in death as I did in life. I have looked all over the West Coast for the perfect place to lay him to rest. We recently visited Point Reyes in San Francisco and Doug loved everything about it; the coast, the park overlooking the ocean, the trees. He even said he loved it so much that this was the place he would want to be when he passed.

Unfortunately, that time came much sooner than any of us expected. This may be unconventional, but I want his memory to last forever by planting his remains in that special place. Doug's remains can grow into a tree, giving life back to the Earth so that he may once again become something strong and beautiful. This is where the GoFundMe comes in. Point Reyes is a national park, which means there are rules and regulations that prohibit Doug's wishes.

I have since found one of very few memorial forests, right near Point Reyes called Fernwood Cemetery. This location is perfect, filled with groves of souls that have grown into beautiful trees. I would be forever grateful to anyone that can help me get Doug to his final resting place. I cannot put into words how incredible the outpouring of love and support for myself and Doug has been these past weeks.

My goal is $23,000 for the burial at Fernwood Cemetery. This would include a space in one of the forests, a tree and a memorial boulder. Death is expensive. But Douglas Fruchey was priceless.

Update-

I have been in contact with Fernwood these past few days. I was able to receive photos and videos of a certain part of the cemetery that speaks to my heart more. I have updated the goal for the GoFundMe to reflect the change. I am honestly overwhelmed with the generosity so far. Your kind works and prayers have meant everything to me in this very, very, VERY sad time in my life. I don’t know what else to say. Thank you.
