Leslie Schmidt, born on August 3, 1939, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at the age of 85.
Leslie was the beloved son of Robert and Lulu Schmidt and grew up alongside his two brothers, J. A. Schmidt and Robert Schmidt, and his uncle L. C. Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Wendy, with whom he shared many treasured memories and a deep, abiding love. He is lovingly remembered by his son, David Schmidt; his stepson, Mike Gayler; his granddaughter, Tia Mauldin; and grandson Carlos Pandiella. His family and friends will forever hold dear the moments they shared with him.
Leslie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His time in service reflected his unwavering dedication and integrity—qualities that remained central to his character throughout his life. After completing his military service, Leslie continued to embody these values by founding a firewood and lawn service business. Through hard work and determination, he made a meaningful impact on his community.
Leslie’s memory will forever serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may those who mourn find solace in the legacy of love and perseverance he leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Leslie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Aulds Funeral Home, located at 7849 Kings Hwy in Shreveport, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life defined by service and devotion.
