I, his Mother, want to share with you a story about a boy who was so full of life and love that his spirit was simply too large for this world. Jahzier "Jah" Les Porter, born on April 26, 2007, in Boston, MA, was a charismatic young man who had a knack for making everyone around him feel like the most important person in the world. He was loving and spirited, always ready with a hug or a joke to lighten the mood. Jah had a loyalty that was beyond his years, always sticking up for the underdog and standing by his family and friends, no matter the circumstance. He lived out the quote by Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Jah had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Jah was the best son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and most importantly, friend. Always the life of the party, Jah's laughter was contagious, and his spirit was uncontainable. Jah was loved deeply, cared for immensely and will be missed tremendously. Sadly on Sunday, June 25th at approximately 1:30AM our son was taken from us tragically in front of our home of 10+ years in Braintree, Massachusetts. My teenage son suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival. This has been the worst nightmare I have ever experienced and was never prepared to bury my only son.
