Memory and Celebration of Hakim Crymes

Donation protected
We acknowledge the passing and celebrate the new life of Hakim R. Crymes, who has entered into the presence of God.

Hakim R Crymes was born on June 24, 1984, to his loving mother, Sheila Penn-Crymes and the late Tyrone A. Crymes. He was the first of three kids from that union. He was born and raised in Washington, DC, and was the maternal grandson of Rashidah Nimetullah ne’ Jessie B. McEachin Penn (dec) and Robert (Redtop) B. Penn (dec); the great nephew of Peter McEachin of Salisbury, Md., and the paternal grandson of Virgil and Rosslyn Crymes of Macon Ga and Barbara Prue (dec). The youngest of four boys, and brother to five sisters, growing up, he was a precocious and curious child. Hakim looked up to and loved being with his older brothers. As he became older, he began to bond with his Uncle Tariq (dec) to learn and understand other religions and principles. Hakim grew into a man of the people and learned that the one commonalty of all religious teachings is love for your fellow man.

Hakim- also known by nicknames like “Be Back’; ‘Gm Stu Jones’ and ‘Kool Keem’ is survived by his other love, his mother, Sheila Penn-Crymes; beautiful daughter, Kenzie Crymes; Five sisters, Adeia Holland (Eric), Aisha Mitchner, Nya Washington (Cameron) Angel Crymes, Akhira Crymes; Three brothers, Antoine Crymes, Kyru Crymes, Zuri Crymes and bonus brother Raymond Adams (and wife Tamika). He was preceded in death by their eldest brother, Tyrone Rondell Crymes. He also leaves behind in his tribe: his four aunts and two uncles, Tonya Penn-Huff, Mary Penn-Beveney, Omar Penn, Talat, Ruquaiyah and Namillah Nimetullah, he was preceded in death by Tariq Abd al Baqi. Additionally, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and enduring friends. He is already dearly missed by his tribe, and we will be standing in the Gap for his beloved Kenzie.

The death of Hakim Crymes was sudden and unexpected and has resulted in unexpected funeral expenses. All donations received will go to towards funeral costs and expenses and any fundraising overage will go towards supporting the beautiful daughter he is leaving behind.
