Memory Care for Nathaniel Hines
Donation protected
Nathaniel Hines, affectionately referred to as Pop, Granddaddy, PaPa, Grandpa, and Uncle Nat, is known to others as a 103 year old beloved World War ll veteran (enlisted in the US Army June 11, 1941 during World War II and completed tours of duty in France, Germany, Belgium, and Japan within a 4.5 year period), one of NC A&T's oldest living alumni, one of Raleigh, NC's centenarians. Named Peace Corps Associate Director in Liberia in 1966, he spent time supporting the work of 400 Peace Corp volunteers in Monrovia, primarily focused on education. In 1971 he was appointed director of the Jobs Optional Program for the Division of Human Resources in the NC Department of Loial Affairs.
As recently as one year ago, he has prided himself on living independently, but due to some recent challenges with age, he has now entered into a new phase of life in which he is no longer able to do so. The time has come that he now requires full time memory care assistance. Unfortunately, his current income doesn't cover the monthly cost requirements for an all inclusive memory care facility, which averages approximately $8,000 monthly.
The family of Mr. Hines humbly requests financial contributions to assist with covering the monthly costs for a memory care facility to ensure that he has the best care possible.
In advance, we greatly appreciate your support shown for our loved one; and may God bless each and every one of you!
PaPa Hines has previously been a routine annual feature on the local news stations and newspapers publications to highlight his faithful weekly gym workout regimen.
