Running to help Men in WA with PROSTATE CANCER
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Ross and this April I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for a WA based organisation, PCaHELP www.pcahelp.org/ and Prostate Cancer UK.
Prostate Cancer is the No.1 diagnosed type of cancer and will affect over 20,000 men and their families in Australia alone each year,.
It kills a dad or partner or brother or son or granddad or uncle or mate - in every 8 men diagnosed.
I was diagnosed with cancer and had my prostate removed in 2021. Thankfully
- my GP recognised the early warning signs
- I was given access to pre/post op advice on both sexual health & physio for bladder control
- my surgeon was extremely skilled and used up to date robotic techniques for the procedure
- I practice yoga
These factors encouraged and enabled me to take timely action, deal with the cancer and regain my quality of life.
Not all men are this fortunate and we need to change this .
I’m returning to marathon running (never say never again …) to help fund ongoing lifesaving research and raise money to allow PCaHELP to promote early detection and management of prostate cancer as well as offering support and relief for those and their families in the WA community who are already suffering.
I need your help - please donate (and share this with others) .
THANK YOU !
