MenDee's Legacy: Aid for Her Loved Ones
Donation protected
On December 28th at 4am, my beloved mother, MenDee Houston, passed away after a long and courageous battle with her health. For the past 20 years, she bravely fought Rheumatoid Arthritis, enduring constant pain. Despite her struggles, she never let it stop her from baking cakes for family members or attending family gatherings, always bringing joy to those around her.
Five years ago, she faced a new challenge with a heart issue, which she confronted with remarkable bravery. In September, she underwent emergency surgery to resect dying bowels, which led to significant breathing issues. On December 19th, she was hospitalized for these breathing issues and was flown to Loveland, where doctors tried to restore her heart to a normal rhythm. Sadly, her heart couldn’t handle the struggle any longer, and Jesus took her home. I am her daughter and I fought these battles with, held her hand, stayed in hospitals and comforted her as best I could. I am struggling because I could not be with her when she passed, I am currently fighting covid and was not allowed at her bedside. I hate that she passed away alone, I hate that the one time I couldn't be with her is when she let go.
MenDee’s strength, stubbornness, and unwavering spirit touched most who knew her. We are raising funds to cover her medical expenses and other expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated. Thank you too all who loved her, kept her company and raised her spirits, your love was felt by her.
