Menlo Knight Vision Fire Relief Fund

Five of the six largest fires in California history are happening right now. Roughly 3.6 million acres have burned, 7,000 homes have been destroyed, and thousands of people have been displaced or injured. These fires are ravaging counties that many of us live in, including San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, and Sonoma counties. Knight Vision, Menlo’s community engagement club, is here to help.
Knight Vision is composed of roughly 30 individuals from Menlo’s Upper School who organize various community events throughout the year. Ten of these club members have formed the Knight Vision Fire Relief Committee to help wildfire victims and firefighters recover from the devastating wildfires in California this year.
With your donations to our GoFundMe, we will support two different groups: the California Community Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund, and Knight Vision’s Care Package Initiative.
The California Community Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund aims to help people impacted by the various wildfires across California, through both mid-term and long-term recovery efforts. We’ll be donating two-thirds of our proceeds to this charity.
Knight Vision’s Care Package Initiative intends to mobilize Menlo students to create care packages for people affected by the wildfires. One-third of the money raised will be used to purchase materials—such as surgical masks, toiletries, and first aid kits—to fill these care packages. Knight Vision’s Fire Relief Committee will deliver these care packages to organizations who are in direct contact with fire victims.
We know that the Menlo community can make an impact. By donating to this GoFundMe, you will be providing direct relief to people affected by the California wildfires. We hope that you will do what you can to help those who are struggling immensely right now.
Sincerely,
Knight Vision
