Mental Health Equals A Whole Community

Tax deductible
Communities across the nation are fractured by the effects of mental illness. How can we make them whole? 1 in 5 adults will suffer some form of mental illness this year. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in people between the ages of 10 and 34. The stigma attached to seeking mental health help contributes to this crisis. Lack of education, lack of specific training and lack of knowledge about the causes of mental health issues lead to those who are suffering feeling stigmatized. Too many people downplay or ignore the very real effect that misunderstanding and stigmatizing mental health has on the individual and the community. That is why we are partnering with The Mental Health Collaborative. They create school and community-based programs to educate students, faculty and staff, first responders and community leaders.

The mental health crisis affects all levels of our society. We feel this crisis calls for an “All hands on deck” approach. Supporting the Mental Health Collaborative’s programs for education on mental health and increasing awareness of mental health issues is crucial. Education programs supported by the Mental Health Collaborative are vital to gaining an understanding of the issue and destigmatizing those who seek mental health care. Join with us as we seek to make a difference and try to remove the stigma of mental health care. We must remember that Mental Health equals a Whole Community. That should be the goal for us all. Will you join us? This is the time of giving, please take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference by donating.

Research references and other supplemental education about those most vulnerable to mental illness are listed below. Additionally, if you need help, please reach out to someone. Dial 988 if you or someone you know is having suicidal ideations or contemplating suicide.
